Welcome to the Photo Enclave support page. I'm an independent developer. I care about your privacy and about keeping the experience reliable and secure. The app runs 100% offline and never stores your media on remote servers; I handle all support myself.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where are my photos and videos stored?
A: All your files are encrypted locally and stored inside the app's isolated sandbox on your device. They are never uploaded to any cloud or external servers.
Q: What happens if I forget my space passcode or backup password?
A: The space passcode and backup password stay on your device. I never receive them, so I cannot reset a forgotten passcode or recover the vault. Keep both somewhere you can find them.
Q: Does deleting the app remove my hidden data?
A: Yes. On both iPhone and Android, uninstalling the app permanently deletes all of its local data, including your encrypted vault. To prevent data loss, use the built-in Backup feature before removing the app, and export your encrypted backup (ideally protected with a strong password of your choice) to the Files app, device storage or external storage.
Q: Does a backup include my VIP spaces?
A: Only the spaces that are unlocked at the time. On both iPhone and Android, a backup — whether of selected albums or a Full encrypted backup — includes only what is currently visible in the app. Albums in a VIP space that is not unlocked are treated as nonexistent and are left out. To include them, unlock the space with its passphrase first, then run the backup.
Q: Is my vault included in iCloud, computer, or Google backups?
A: Not from version 1.2.6. On iPhone, vault files and the decoy Sketch pad are left out of iCloud and computer backups. App settings are not covered by this, so after restoring a device from such a backup the app may keep its old settings while the photos and videos do not come back. On Android, the app's data is left out of Google backup and of phone-to-phone transfer. To move to a new device, use the file from the in-app backup. A system backup made before 1.2.6 may still contain the vault as it was then. Restoring from it can bring that content back, including photos and videos you deleted later. Such backups are not deleted automatically; if you do not want to keep them, delete them in your iCloud or Google account's backup settings.
